Hearts PRO: Underdog tag is a blessing in disguise

first_imgHearts of Oak are unperturbed by the underdog tag given to them by various critics and pundits ahead of the upcoming league. The Phobians have come under scrutiny after a woeful 2014/2015 league season coupled with a poor preseason which has seen the Phobians win in only one game. This follows the decision to appoint Japanese American Kenichi Yatsuhashi who has little or no experience in club management.Critics in recent weeks have mocked the club for picking the coach on social media after he was seen on facebook by a member of the club. All these issues have culminated to leave Hearts as rank outsiders for the league title but PRO of the club, Kwame Opare Addo, believes the tag is a blessing in disguise.“If they say we are the underdogs for the season we have accepted it,” Opare told Asempa Sports. “We have accepted it as a challenge but when the season starts, our performance on the pitch will prove everybody right or wrong.”“The concentration is to make sure that we get more consistent than last season.”“We have to work very hard to ensure places people believe Hearts can’t cross that line, we are able to cross those lines.”“Then we sit back and listen to the comments of the same critics who wrote us off.”Hearts of Oak round off the preseason with a game against newly promoted Dreams FC in Dawu to re-commission the Dawu Park. –Follow Joy Sports on Twitter: @JoySportsGH.
