It allows us to train in a way where you probably can’t do it at home, at this moment, with it being so cold,” reported Carrick. “We can work on different things. When it’s freezing cold at home, you’ve got to keep on the move and you don’t want the lads standing around too much.“So here we’ll work hard, especially over the next few days, and prepare for Sunday, but it allows us to maybe spend a little bit more time on the training ground and go into a little bit more detail, which we need at this moment.“As you can imagine, it’s quite a happy camp. When you’re winning football matches, you can’t put a price on the feeling that gives you, and the confidence and the belief.”You almost sense a calmness when you’re winning games. It’s great to see the lads enjoying themselves. The football’s flowing, the training’s good, they’re bouncing around the place, and it’s nice to see.” last_img read more

Plaxico Burress Took A Twitter Jab At Jim Harbaugh, Michigan

first_imgPlaxico Burress close up.plaxico burress upset michigan state nebraska gameSince taking over at Michigan, Jim Harbaugh has certainly gone above and beyond in terms of recruiting. Whether it’s sleepovers, climbing trees, going to class with recruits or moving spring practice to Florida for a week, Harbaugh is committed to selling his vision in any way possible. The future is Harbaugh’s biggest selling point, as the Wolverines haven’t been elite lately. In recent years, Michigan has been on the short end of the stick against arch-rivals Michigan State and Ohio State. They’ve lost 11 of 12 to the Buckeyes and seven of eight to Sparty. Taking all this into account, former Michigan State star Plaxico Burress dropped a quick jab at Harbaugh and his recruiting tactics on Twitter this morning. According to Burress, while Harbaugh has to peddle his program, the Spartans simply have to point to the results. Looks like J Harbaugh is pulling out all stops to get kids to Michigan. We @MSU_Football just believe in the product. Don’t have to sell us— Plaxico Burress (@plaxicoburress) March 1, 2016Plax has a point because Michigan State has been the premier program in the state of Michigan the last several seasons. However, Harbaugh did lead his team to a 10-3 record in his first year and was one insane fluke play away from beating the Spartans. The Wolverines also have an outstanding recruiting class on the way. Will the Maize and Blue begin dominating its in-state rivals starting in 2016? We won’t go that far, but this series should be much closer in the coming years.last_img read more

Michigan Players Make It Clear The Wolverines Are Rooting For Colorado

first_imgMichigan's players taking a selfie on a couch.Instagram/alexmalzoneMichigan football’s clearest path to the College Football Playoff involves Colorado, a team the Wolverines beat, winning the Pac-12 championship.Back on September 17, Michigan beat Colorado 45-28 at the Big House. At the time, Colorado looked like it could be on the way to a breakout bowl season in year four under Mike McIntyre. Instead, the Buffaloes ran out to a 10-2 record, and claimed the Pac-12 South title. Now, the Wolverines are some of the Buffaloes biggest fans.Colorado currently ranks eighth in the country ahead of conference championship week, three spots behind Michigan. A win in the Pac-12 Championship likely knocks the No. 4 team, Washington, out of contention, and could open the door for Michigan to get back in the top four. A Colorado win would also then make Michigan’s win over the Buffaloes look even more impressive.Michigan players know what’s at stake in the Pac-12 title game, and they are all aboard the Buffaloes bandwagon. Aguero & Jesus leaving City is ‘out of the question’

first_imgGabriel Jesus claims it is “out of the question” that both he and Sergio Aguero will leave Manchester City this summer. The Brazil international expects Pep Guardiola to have a full complement of strikers at his disposal next season. That means neither of his current leading men will be heading for the exits. Article continues below Editors’ Picks ‘There is no creativity’ – Can Solskjaer get Man Utd scoring freely again? ‘Everyone legged it on to the pitch!’ – How Foden went from Man City superfan to future superstar Emery out of jail – for now – as brilliant Pepe papers over Arsenal’s cracks What is Manchester United’s ownership situation and how would Kevin Glazer’s sale of shares affect the club? Both have seen moves elsewhere mooted with another transfer window open.Aguero, who remains a model of consistency for City, has admitted that he will be returning to Independiente in his native Argentina at some stage.Jesus, meanwhile, has been linked with a switch after slipping down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium. With Aguero established as first choice, the other South American forward has had to be patient and make the most of the opportunities that do come his way.Jesus insists he is happy with that standing for now, with the 22-year-old telling the Daily Mail of the transfer talk which has been building at the Etihad Stadium: “I think it’s out of the question that Aguero leaves and me too.“[Aguero] is a legend at the club – he’s the top scorer [of all time].“Obviously as a player I always want to play, but I’m happy to help and I respect Sergio.”Gabriel Jesus Manchester City 2018-19Jesus wrapped up his 2018-19 campaign at club level in style, bagging a brace in a crushing 6-0 FA Cup final victory for City over Watford.Raheem Sterling came close to taking one of those efforts off him, but the goal was eventually credited to Jesus and he ended the season with 21 across all competitions.“It was a very important final, the last game of the season and I was happy to be able to score in such an important fixture,” he added. On top of the goals he registered last season, Jesus also provided six assists for grateful team-mates.His value to the City cause is obvious, contributing to Premier League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup successes in 2019, helping the Blues to secure an historic domestic treble, and will be chasing down more honours next term.Prior to that, though, he has a Copa America campaign to contend with.Brazil opened their bid for international glory on home soil with a 3-0 victory over Bolivia, with Jesus seeing 25 minutes off the bench in that contest.last_img read more
