first_img Google+ Further drop in people receiving PUP in Donegal Facebook Pinterest 365 additional cases of Covid-19 in Republic By admin – December 8, 2015 People in Donegal are being encouraged to apply for places on state boards, after the first year of the new website.It allows qualified people submit applications and expressions of interest in positions they believe they are suited for.The new system was introduced in response to a number of controversies, including the appointment of Donegal man John Mc Nulty to the board of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, prior to his nomination as a Seamad by-election candidate. He subsequently stepped down and sought to withdraw from the Seanad race.Since November 2014, over 860 names have been put forward for consideration by Ministers, 183 people have been appointed by Ministers to 48 State Boards.Of those appointed, 56% are male and 44% are female.Public Appointments service spokesperson Niall Byrne says the response rate has been very positive:Audio Player Up/Down Arrow keys to increase or decrease volume.
